New Delhi:
BJP leader Agnimitra Paul has challenged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Paul suggested that Banerjee should stand against PM Modi from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency.
“Why doesn’t Mamata Banerjee contest from Varanasi? If Mamata Banerjee has the courage to compete in place of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, then she should do that. You want to become Prime Minister, right? Then she should contest against our Prime Minister,” Agnimitra Paul told news agency ANI.

Paul’s statement came after Mamata Banerjee called on the INDIA bloc to finalize the seat-sharing arrangement for the 2024 elections. The Trinamool Congress has proposed that Banerjee should be the face of the Opposition alliance.
Trinamool is eager to expedite seat-sharing discussions, establish a collective narrative, and finalize the manifesto to present a strong challenge against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Sources indicate that Mamata Banerjee is also open to seat-sharing talks with the Congress, despite rumors that some Congress leaders in the state were advocating for a seat-sharing arrangement with the Left. In the past, such an alliance between the Left and the Congress performed poorly in 2019. However, with the formation of the INDIA alliance and the CPI(M) opting out of any alliance in the state with the TMC, the Congress, which expects a consolidation of Muslim votes, is hoping for more seats to contest in Bengal.

If You Want To Be PM…: BJP Leader’s Dare To Mamata Banerjee
In a recent political development, a prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has issued a daring challenge to Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal. With eyes set on the upcoming general elections, the BJP leader questioned Mamata Banerjee’s aspirations to become the Prime Minister of India.
The BJP leader’s dare came amidst the ongoing political turmoil in West Bengal, where the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP have engaged in a fierce battle for power. As Mamata Banerjee has been vocal about her national ambitions, the BJP leader openly challenged her qualifications and capabilities to hold the highest office in the country.
Citing concerns over the law and order situation in West Bengal, the BJP leader highlighted the need for a strong leader who can effectively govern the state before considering higher political positions. The challenge serves as a reminder to Mamata Banerjee to focus on resolving local issues and ensuring peace and stability within her own jurisdiction.
With the general elections approaching, this challenge from a BJP leader adds fuel to the already intense political atmosphere in West Bengal. It remains to be seen how Mamata Banerjee responds to this daring proposition and whether it will impact her political aspirations in the long run.
