Report: Parent company of adult entertainment website Pornhub admits to profiting from sex trafficking

Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, has admitted to profiting from sex trafficking, according to a recent report. As part of a deferred prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors, Aylo will pay a fine of $1.8 million and provide compensation to the victims of sex trafficking. The agreement also requires the company to undergo monitoring for three years. If Aylo complies with the terms, the charges against it will be dropped. Court documents revealed that Aylo failed to follow through with takedown requests from women in 2016 and did not independently verify consent. Despite removing the production company’s videos from Pornhub in 2019, some were reposted by other users and remained online. The European Union has added Pornhub to a list of companies required to follow strict regulations under the new Digital Services Act (DSA). These regulations include conducting risk management, undergoing external auditing, and sharing data with authorities and researchers.,

Pornhub’s parent company, MindGeek, has recently come under scrutiny as a report reveals its involvement in profiting from sex trafficking. The report alleges that the popular adult website failed to adequately remove videos featuring non-consensual or underage content, allowing such material to be uploaded and monetized. This revelation highlights the company’s negligence in combating sex trafficking and raises concerns about the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. The report has sparked widespread calls for stricter regulation and accountability within the adult entertainment industry.
