Nine IT employees were injured in a shocking incident when an elevator unexpectedly plummeted in a high-rise building in Noida. The incident occurred at River Side Tower in Noida Sector 125, where the employees were working. The elevator crashed from the 8th floor, causing injuries to all nine occupants.
Authorities have reported that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. According to a senior police officer, the employees of Erasmith Technologies were on their way home from their office on the 8th floor when the incident took place at 5.45 pm.
Out of the nine injured individuals, five were admitted to the ICU due to severe injuries on their arms and legs. The remaining four are also receiving treatment, and their condition has stabilized, with four of them being moved to the general ward.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida), Harish Chander, stated, “Erasmith Technologies is an IT developer company located on the eighth floor of the building. The injured employees were immediately taken to Jaypee Hospital, where two of them are doing well, while the others are undergoing treatment. Thankfully, none of them are in critical condition.”
The injured individuals have been identified as Piyush Sharma (22), Abhishek Pandit (23), Abhishek Gupta (24), Saurabh Katia (28), Rajat Sharma (29), Shubham Bhardwaj (22), Yashu Sharma (23), Sagar (25), and Abhijeet Singh (23). Two maintenance workers have been taken into custody by the police.
