Kiren Rijiju accuses Hemant Soren of money embezzlement.

'Spoiled Son': Kiren Rijiju Accuses Hemant Soren of 'Embezzling Funds'

New Delhi:

In a scathing retort to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju branded him as a “spoiled child” and emphasized that belonging to a tribal community does not grant him the right to misappropriate public funds.

“As a tribal hailing from a more deprived region, I find your remark amusing. If Shibu Soren ji had uttered this statement, I might have considered it, but it doesn’t befit a spoiled son like you. Anyway, tribal individuals do not possess the privilege to engage in corrupt practices,” expressed Rijiju in a post on ‘X’.

Rijiju’s response was triggered by Hemant Soren’s post on ‘X’ where he asserted that he was unafraid and unwilling to accept defeat.

“It’s a pause, life is an enormous battle. I have fought every moment, and I will continue fighting every moment. But I refuse to plead for compromise. Whether in victory or in defeat, fear does not envelop me. I will not surrender in vain. I will not accept defeat,” Soren wrote on ‘X’.

Sources confirmed that Hemant Soren was arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Wednesday night in connection with a land scam case, shortly after tendering his resignation to Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhawan.

Notably, Hemant Soren’s loyalist Champai Soren, who serves as the state transport minister, will assume the role of Chief Minister.

Rijiju alleged that Soren’s government had misused funds meant for public welfare and development programs. The Union Minister criticized the Chief Minister for not utilizing the resources effectively, which has hindered Jharkhand’s progress. Rijiju’s remarks highlight the ongoing political feud between the ruling party at the center and the opposition in the state.
