Ram Lalla ornaments prepared with extensive research and study, says temple trust.

The ornaments adorning the Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya temple have been meticulously crafted after conducting extensive research and studying various texts, including the Adhyatma Ramayana, Valmiki Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas, and the Alavandar Stotram, according to the temple trust. These exquisite ornaments have been skillfully created by Ankur Anand’s Harsahaimal Shiamlal Jewellers, based in Lucknow.

The attire of Ram Lalla consists of a Banarasi fabric, with a yellow dhoti and a red pataka/angavastram. These angavastrams are adorned with pure gold ‘zari’ and threads, featuring auspicious Vaishnav symbols such as Shankh, Padma, Chakra, and Mayur, as explained by a member of the temple trust. Delhi-based textile designer Manish Tripathi, who worked from Ayodhya Dham, was responsible for creating these garments.

The creation of these divine ornaments is the result of extensive research and study, following the descriptions of Lord Ram’s scripturally-appropriate splendor in texts such as the Adhyatma Ramayana, Valmiki Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas, and Alavandar Stotram. These ornaments have been crafted by Ankur Anand’s Harsahaimal Shiamlal Jewellers, under the concept and direction of Yatindra Mishra, in Lucknow.

The magnificent Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, is an awe-inspiring structure. It spans 380 feet in length (east-west), 250 feet in width, and stands at a height of 161 feet. The temple is supported by 392 pillars and features 44 doors, with intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses adorning its pillars and walls.

The main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor houses the idol of Shri Ram Lalla, depicting his childhood form. The temple’s main entrance is located on the eastern side and can be reached by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar. The temple complex includes five ‘mandaps’ (halls) – Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. Additionally, there is a historic well called Sita koop, dating back to ancient times, situated near the temple.

In the southwestern part of the temple complex, the ancient temple of Lord Shiva at Kuber Tila has been restored, along with the construction of a statue of Jatayu. The temple’s foundation has been constructed using a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), giving it the appearance of artificial rock. Iron has not been used anywhere in the construction of the temple.

To ensure protection against ground moisture, a 21-foot-high plinth made of granite has been constructed. The temple complex also includes a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire safety, and an independent power station. The construction of the temple showcases India’s traditional and indigenous technology.

The sculptor responsible for creating the Ram Lalla idol is Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru. The consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol took place at the Ayodhya temple in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This historic event was witnessed by millions of people across the country, who watched the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony on television from their homes and neighborhood temples. This auspicious occasion marks the beginning of a new era.

The ornaments of Ram Lalla, the deity of Lord Ram, have been meticulously prepared by the temple trust after thorough research and study. The trust has taken great care to ensure that the ornaments are historically accurate and in line with the traditions followed during Lord Ram’s era. These ornaments hold immense significance as they adorn the idol of Ram Lalla, adding to the divine beauty and sanctity of the temple. The trust’s dedication to preserving the authenticity of these ornaments showcases their commitment to upholding the rich cultural heritage associated with Lord Ram.
