Iran’s state TV reported that Moussavi was targeted by three missiles, and footage showed smoke rising from the area of the strike. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, reported Israeli strikes on positions used by Iranian and Hezbollah forces in the Sayyida Zeinab area.
Israel has conducted numerous air strikes targeting Iran-backed forces, Hezbollah fighters, and Syrian army positions since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011. The IRGC previously accused Israel of killing two of its members in Syria on December 2.
