The suggestion is to replace the name of Mallikarjun Kharge with the proposed West Bengal CM on the face of the PM for the INDIA bloc.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal have proposed Mallikarjun Kharge as the potential Prime Ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc, according to statements made by Banerjee to the media on Wednesday.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha also praised Kharge, highlighting his 55-year-long successful political career and describing him as a social reformer and political luminary. Chadha added that the final decision on the Prime Ministerial candidate would be made through discussions and dialogue.

In related news, the INDIA bloc has announced a nationwide protest on December 22 to oppose the suspension of 141 Members of Parliament (MPs).

During the fourth meeting of the INDIA bloc in New Delhi on Tuesday, leaders expressed their support for Mallikarjun Kharge as the face of the coalition for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. However, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the importance of winning first before deciding on leadership, stating that the issue should be resolved democratically.

Seat sharing was also discussed during the meeting, with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) proposing that the arrangement be finalized by December 31, while Congress suggested that the finalization of seats should be done by the second week of January.

The meeting took place in the backdrop of the Congress party’s recent losses in the assembly polls, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

This meeting marked the fourth gathering of INDIA bloc leaders, with previous meetings held in Patna, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The meeting was held at the state-run Ashoka Hotel and saw the presence of leaders such as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad, DMK’s T R Baalu, CPI-M’s Sitaram Yechury, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav, and CPI’s D Raja.,

Mallikarjun Kharge, a prominent political figure, has emerged as a potential candidate for the Chief Minister’s post in West Bengal. Known for his extensive experience and leadership skills, Kharge has been proposed by the India bloc as an ideal candidate to lead the state.
