IPL 2024: Final squad of Rajasthan Royals after auction

Rajasthan Royals, the 2008 IPL champions, have opted for continuity in their squad for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. With a purse of Rs 14.5 crore and eight slots to fill, the team, led by Sanju Samson, strategically approached the auction.

In the IPL 2024 Auction, the team’s first move was securing West Indies batter and T20I skipper Rovman Powell. Initially listed in Set 1 with a base price of INR 1 Crore, Powell became the subject of a bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders. Rajasthan Royals emerged victorious, acquiring Powell for INR 7.40 Crore.

Continuing their smart acquisitions, the Royals added Vidarbha batter Shubham Dubey to their roster. Despite Dubey’s base price being a modest Rs 20 lakhs, a bidding duel with Delhi Capitals unfolded. The Royals persisted and secured Dubey for Rs 5.8 crore, recognizing his significant impact in domestic cricket.

The team also welcomed English cricketer Tom Kohler-Cadmore, representing Somerset, into their ranks. Kohler-Cadmore, a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler, was secured for Rs 40 lakh.
